Rachel Rising Debuts Today on ComiXology

Today Rachel went up for sale on ComiXology! Issues 1-5 are now available. Issue #1 is 99cents, the rest are $1.99 each. And, in case you’re wondering, yes, beginning with the next issue, ComiXology will post same day releases of all new Rachel issues. That means, Rachel Rising #6 hits stores everywhere and ComiXology the same day, March 7.

Details: The price on new issues will be cover price, just like the stores, and will remain cover price until the following new issue comes out. Then #6 will go down to $1.99 and join the others in the catalog. Sound fair? I think so. I talked to some key retailers about it and they agreed it was an equitable arrangement. Nobody has the jump or price advantage during that critical new issue window.

The goal is to sell Rachel Rising through as many stores as possible. ComiXology is my online store, and the best there is. I’m very happy to join their ranks!

How To Draw Beautiful… fini!

The Beautiful book is done. Finished it yesterday, made revisions today and will proof tonight, then it’s off to the printer. This will be the 3rd book in the series. There will be 5 total, then a TPB that may come with a bonus chapter, if I can get it done in time.

Look for this beauty in stores in March.

Rachel Rising #6 is done!

I finished Rachel Rising #6 this morning and sent it to the printer who almost immediately sent back a proof, which I checked and approved and now it’s moved to the production line and will ship this weekend. (Brenner Printing in San Antonio —who printed all of Echo and now Rachel Rising— has always been very good to work with. I recommend them to any indie publishers.)

So, hang on, the next chapter is on the way. You might want to mark your calendars and see long it takes to get a print book from me to you. Seems to be anywhere from 2-4 weeks. By book standards, that’s very fast. But by “hit a button and it’s posted” standards it’s a long time, isn’t it?

ComicsPRO

I’m off to Dallas this weekend to attend the retailer summit that is ComicPRO. Some 150 retailers from around the galaxy are estimated to be there to take the pulse of the business, compare notes and find common goals for 2012. I’d like to be included in their plans, so I’ll be there to pitch my books and show my support.

If you’re a retailer attending the event, please feel free to say hi and introduce yourself. I’m all ears when it comes to talking about my books and how to get them into as many reader’s hands as possible.

Rachel Rising TPB: The Shadow of Death on Amazon

You can now order the first Rachel Rising  TPB: The Shadow Of Death, at Amazon for early discount. It ships next month, March. I encourage you to order from them if a store is not convenient, because we want Amazon to like Rachel. Please post any good reviews you may have on Rachel, or any of my books there. It really helps with ratings and my future ability to list new books there in the future. Thanks!

My official Facebook page launch

Just (re)launched my “official” Facebook page. This is a fanpage where I will be able to stay in touch with the FB community. If you’re a Facebook regular, please “Like” my page to get your daily feed.

I’ll place the FB  icon on my blog page here as soon as I figure out how to insert the HMTL without crashing the world wide web. Last time I crashed the world wide web, people got mad at me—I actually got a stern letter from Google. Oh my.

Literally just finished drawing this for the Diamond Previews solicitation, March catalog. This book will ship in May, unless that tree gets me, too.

Sweet dreams.

Welcome to ComiXology

We’re really excited to be able offer Terry’s work on comiXology’s platform — iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle Fire and even the Web! As a marketing guy, I can’t wait to introduce a whole new generation of reader’s to Terry’s work — from those who are current readers to those they haven’t read a comic before ever.

—Chip Mosher, ComiXology

Thanks, Chip. It’s going to be a great year!
