Swamped! I’m cranking on Echo 15 at the moment. Barely time to look back at all that’s happened since San Diego, but here are a few things I saved to show you.

A fun iFanBoy interview. This video tabs to me but you will want to check out the rest of the video… good stuff!

Just so you know, the new prints I made for San Diego are now available at the store. The SiP print:

2009 SiP-print_Final

The new Echo print:

Echo

Which is actually 1/2 of a 2-print design with my booth mate at San Diego, Jeff “RASL” Smith! Buy the Echo side here, then buy the matching RASL side at Jeff’s site.

Also available at the store is the new SiP Tote Bag, with the Beatles design on one side, the SIP logo on the other.

These tote bags were made for one thing, to carry the 12 p0und SiP Omnibus! And they do a fine job of it too.

If you don’t have your order in for an Omnibus, you can still order through our site.

If you have ordered your Omnibus and you’re dying to get your copy, don’t despair. You’re not falling through the cracks. We’ve not delivered any Omnibus orders yet. What arrived at San Diego was a small amount just for the con. We came home with about 100 sets extra (because the books arrived 3 days late at the con). The remaining sets are on their way from China now. Because of the difficulty in getting freight from the other side of the world, our stated deadline of late August looks more like early September for delivery. We want to wait to fill all orders at once so nobody is left behind, and unhappy about it!

One piece of sad news. Pelikan has stopped making my ink in a practical pro-size. Since day one I’ve used this nice big bottle of this specific ink that lasted months. The cost was much less than buying the same amount in numerous small consumer bottles. Unfortunately, this ink has become popular for self-tattooing. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but I know the local art store began worrying about it because the small bottles were disappearing in mass quantities. Apparently the little magpies who can’t afford pro tattoos also can’t afford a $5 bottle of ink. Now, even on line I can’t find this bottle for sale. *groan* Looks like I’ll be buying those little bottles by the basket.

The ink of SiP and Echo… R.I.P.

Oh, cool! I totally didn’t realize that the RASL and ECHO prints “joined” together! I had ordered both prints, from your store and from Boneville respectively, so now I really can’t wait for them to arrive! It’s going to be awesome to display them together!

It’s great to hear what’s going on with Echo 15 and also the shipment status of the Omnibus, so thanks for the update! :)

I get what you’re saying re: the Omnibus, but wouldn’t shipping out those extra copies you have left of the Omnibus now, for the first people who ordered, save you that time and effort later, especially when you’ll have so many more copies to process when the rest arrive? Those who purchased at Comic-Con already have theirs, so anyone not at Comic-Con is technically already “left behind” but don’t worry, we’re not unhappy about it! :)

One of my artist buddies got a couple of the big sized drawing ink at MisterArt.com just last week. Maybe they still have some left and you can stock up.

Never mind the previous post. He ORDERED, but they were out of stock. I guess we know why. Sorry.

What size Pelikan are you looking for? I was just discussing this with my (tattoo artist) boyfriend and they can be ordered through tattoo supply companies.

The big bottle in the picture. I’ll check out the tattoo sites.

Looks like 8.45 fl. oz.

JulesAugust 20th, 2009 at 2:01 pm

I sent you a message via Twitter (I’m @hellagood there) but this seems easier – I just looked at a couple of German online stores and the 250 ml / 8.45 fl. oz bottle is available for 15 Euro which is about 21 USD. There also appears to be a 1000 ml bottle but they have listed it for 59 Euro which seems weird, seeing as one would expect larger quantities to be slightly cheaper.

I have tomorrow off, but will check with several art supply stores near my workplace on Monday. I would gladly do it tomorrow but I’m on vacation till Saturday and I haven’t been able to locate their phone numbers online. :/ I’ll get back to you with more info on Monday then if that’s alright. Take care!

I found a couple of places in Canada that sell the ink in the size you use. One is an art store in Toronto, http://www.abovegroundartsupplies.com and the other is a tattoo store in Ottawa, http://www.tattoosupply.ca/tattooink.htm. They both ship to the US. The tattoo shop even has a larger size for sale, 1000ml compared to the 250ml you’re using. Hopefully they have them in stock. Good Luck!!

Thank you. I’ll check this out!

TerryAugust 21st, 2009 at 4:51 pm

Thank you. I’ll check out the Canadian links first, then maybe the German ones, in an effort to keep the price better than buying a lot of smaller bottles. I can still buy the smaller bottles. They’re just not economically wise if you’re going through a lot of ink.

Hey Terry, just ordered the SiP and Echo prints….the girls look good and look like they are having fun ! Sounds like SD Comic-Con was fun for all.

Hello Terry.
I did find out from the manufacture that that Pelikan drawing Ink is still alive and kicking- just not in N. America and yes because of tattooing. I freelance doing comic books and posters and I’ve just always used Pelikan, given a choice I would rather not switch to anything else. I was wondering if you found a source for the larger sized bottles (250ml or 1000ml)?

TerryFebruary 26th, 2010 at 3:44 pm

No I haven’t found a source for the larger bottles. $5 for a little bottle is expensive, at the rate I go thru them.
