It seems like every day Neil Gaiman wins an award somewhere in the world, but the latest one is BIG. The Graveyard Book won the VERY prestigious Newberry Medal from the American Library Association. This is a big deal (he was on the Today show this morning), coming from a national group of professionals who read every new book every year. They know what they’re talking about, and all the other book related industries listen to them. Neil may never have to pay a library fine again. And it couldn’t have happened to a nicer man.

The morning email brought me approval on my outline for Runaways 8 & 9, the last two issues in my run on the title. I spent the day working on issue 8’s script (I write a screenplay style script in Final Draft).  Takeshi Miyazawa’s pages for issue 7 are coming in fast and furious and they look so cool. The girls especially look very cute.

Robyn and I both were on the phone today lining things up for the New York show (Feb 6-8). I learned more about my teaching seminar there. It will be Saturday, 2-4. The class will be limited to 30 people. Tickets are $100 each, and the money goes to one of our favorite charities: The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. The class will be How To Draw Expressions and Body Language.

Speaking of, the CBLDF now offers signed Echo: Moon Lake tpbs on their website.  They will also have them at the New York Comic Con next week.

Okay, I have to go try and figure out my new phone. I leave you with another con sketch from Phoenix (picture from my old iPhone, which does not work at my new address so had to be replaced today).
