San Diego Info
First, I turned in Echo 5 and the first Echo trade paperback today!!!!! Issue 5, I’m very pleased with how it turned out. And it closes out the first 1/3 of the story arc, which is the first trade (1 of 3 planned). The trade is 120 pages, and will sell for $15.95. I only wish I had been able to get it all done a week earlier in time for San Diego. Such a let down I missed that deadline, but at least it is finished and on it’s way to you as I type.
So we’re off to San Diego tomorrow to set up for the show. The Abstract Studio booth is #2209, directly across the aisle from the DC booth and the Graphitti Design booth, near the front door (at Section C, I think).
We will be there selling everything we have in Preview night Wednesday. That is the night to come buy the original art before it’s been picked through like a garage sale. I suspect we didn’t print enough sketchbooks, so you might want to stop by early in your plans for one of those, too. We are bringing:
NEW! Echo print
NEW! SiP print
NEW! Sketchbook 2008
NEW! Display Graphics (we’ve started selling these at the end of the shows. They make great, one of a kind posters. For price, ask Robyn)
SiP Pocket Readers (full sets)
SiP TPB’s (for collectors trying to fill in gaps)
Echo issues 1-4
All the misc. merch: SiP magnets, postcards, lapel pins, limited amounts of last years SiP print in case you missed it, and of course the original art which will include pages and sketches from Echo.
If you want to commission a sketch, the price is $125 for a pencil on 9″ X 12″ art paper. I will only take 5-10 per day, depending on how the other scheduled things are going. To get one, come see me at the beginning of my first signing stint that day. It’s first come, first serve on this and I do ask you pay up front, because time is so precious I can’t afford to waste it on a sketch that’s not picked up.
The booth will be open all 4 days, all day long. I will be there twice a day for signings, and I have two panels. I am not signing or sketching anywhere other than my own booth. Here is my schedule:
Wed 23: Preview Night (I’ll be there the entire time)
Thursday 24: 10:00 — 11:30, signing at Abstract
Thursday 24: 2:30 — 4:00, signing at Abstract
Friday 25: 10:30 — 11:30, My Spotlight Panel, Room 10
Friday 25: 12:00 — 2:00, signing at Abstract
Friday 25: 5:00 — 6:30, signing at Abstract
Sat 26: 10:00 — 11:30, signing at Abstract
Sat 26: 2:30 — 4:00, signing at Abstract
Sun 27: 10:30 — 12:00, CBLDF Art Jam, Room 5AB
Sun 27: 1:30 — 3:00, signing at Abstract
I’ll try to post updates from the con. When I’m not at the booth signing, I will be sketching the commissions, or in meetings or writing the scripts for Runaways 5, Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane 5, and Echo 6. Wish me luck!
I leave you with a new coloring job by Trevor, aka Fade2Black, aka Mac-talented Echo reader extraordinaire. Jetgirl, weren’t you working on one of these, too?

Art Jam is in Room 5AB
Selling the display graphics is an excellent idea! Glad to hear it’s an option.
2 more days, can’t wait can’t wait can’t wait.
Thanks! I updated the blog.
So is Echo planned to go for around 15-20 issues, then? For some reason I thought it would be longer.
Big fan, Terry. Sorry to miss you this year, any chance at you heading to the New York Comic Con in 2009?
So, there are going to be only 3 trades of Echo?
Which means, it’s pretty much a 15-issue series?
I thought it was an ongoing!
Damn, those colors look great, Fade2Black!
I know we bug you a lot Terry (and Robyn too actually), but should we just keep our eyes peeled here once you get back about selling any sketchbooks that you don’t take to San Diego with you? Thanks!
yes, it got pushed back when i suddenly had to pull 3 doubles at work >_

BAM!!!
What?! Just FIFTEEN issues?!
What I am going to read from 2 years from now.
Sorry, but I can’t go back to Hellblazer. Hell has kicked my ass out after I shut down my annual subscription of John Constantine.
I need a regular ‘bag of chips’ full with Mr Terry’s art till the day that I die.
