Loose Bits

Just a few loose bits here. I saw the box design for the Katchoo statue and it is gorgeous. Clay Moore tells me it will ship January 22, so I think we should see it in stores February.
Any Marvel fans out there? Joe Quesada’s holiday card is very funny. It’s titled Elf yourself.

I made this ad for SiP 89 last week and turned it into Diamond for the Previews catalog. It gave me pause, then chills, then a slight sensation of sheer terror.

Oh mommy.

Below is the front cover to the final Pocket Book, #6. Thought you might like to have first peek at it.

Two blogs I enjoy reading: Jeff Smith’s at http://www.boneville.com/ and Neil Gaiman’s at http://www.neilgaiman.com/journal/. I’m really looking forward to the Captain Marvel book coming out from Jeff soon. From the previews on his blog it looks great. And Neil, well, Neil has more things going on than most large corporations. Gotta be at least a million books, movies, plays, TV series, collections, novels, comics and everything else you can think of. He’s doing everything except a country and western album in ‘07. I keep track of these two guys because everywhere I go they’ve already been there 2 years before, won all their awards and moved on. There are a lot of big names in comics, but these two are the ones America at large is most likely to “discover”. It’s fun to watch them make that journey.

I needed to send a photo of myself to several book and web sources yesterday. I didn’t have one less than a year old (the blog pic was taken at Gettysurgh last summer) so I balanced the camera on my scanner and snapped one on the timer. Here’s what I looked like yesterday, sitting at the computer desk in my studio:

And that’s all I have for now. Tomorrow I’ll draw another page of SIP.
