Dallas Comic Con Report & ORDER ECHO NOW!

The Dallas Comic Con:

Spent Saturday at the Dallas Comic-Con in Richardson. Small show but wonderful organizers and fans. I made a print of Echo and one of SiP to sell at the show. This was the first ever Echo print and I sold the first one to a friend which I signed a added a note stating such. Here is a look at the Echo print we made for the weekend.

And the SiP print:

We have some left over and I think Robyn plans to offer them for sale at the SiPstore. If you would like one, check there later this week or just email her and bug her about it (heh heh). Where’s the SiPstore? What’s Robyn’s email address? you might ask. Well, you’ll have to snoop around the SiP website: www.strangersinparadise.com. It’s all easily found there.

I did 6 sketches while I was there. One of a character I’ve never heard of before, Atom Eve from Invincible. The nice man who requested this, Randy Andrews, posted pics on his blog today plus a general report on the con. I think it’s interesting to see the show through the eyes of another. I think my favorite sketch request was for Francine and Katchoo standing in front of a well-known Houston grocery store. It turned out well and I asked the happy owner to send me a scan so I could share with you here. Hope he does it. I really need to travel with a portable scanner of some sort just for this reason.

Pre-ordering Echo (NOW please!!!!!):
Oh, I asked that you preorder Echo now, this month, because now is when the orders are taken by the distributor, Diamond Comics. If you don’t already have a routine involving a local comic book shop or mail order service, then I suggest you accomplish this via email with any of the wonderful comic shops with websites. There are many scattered all across the country and I don’t dare try and name them all in this blog for fear of forgetting one. But simply google search for a comic book store in your state or tri-state area, contact them via email and ask for this order. Unless they are a dinky little shop run by rats they will be more than happy to work with you.

And of course, the ace up your sleeve is to order direct from me. Like the click of the ruby slippers, you were able to do this all along. I print the books, I have a ton of them in at the studio, I have a website that takes every credit card… of course you can order them from me… and get them signed in the process. I just like to use and help support the comic book retailers whenever possible, because without them… hoo boy. Not good.

Hey Terry,

Took your advice and asked our local comic shop to add ECHO to both my pull list and my son’s. They carried SiP on the rack, but I wanted to make sure they knew that Echo needed to be added to the rack and my lists !

The 5-page preview that Diamond has is outstanding !!!

How do I order Echo from you? I couldn’t find it in the SIPstore? I’ve been interested in this book since you posted the cover on your blog. I even mentioned it in my 12/29/07 blog entry. You can read it yourself, if your interested, at http://zinccomics.livejournal.com

It was great to see you & Robyn again. I’m gonna post some things on my Second Life Blog here very soon. Was also fun to sit in on the comics discussion.

I’m gonna get my Echo pre-ordered through Fusion Comics which is Stacey’s online comic store. :-)

Hi Terry,

I just bought all the SiP pocketbooks, after finishing the first one…it was beautiful, and it made me tear up. Just wanted to know, are the MP3s of the songs still available? I didn’t get a chance to listen to them, and it would be great to do so.

I’m going to my local comic shop tomorrow to make sure they’re ordering Echo #1…and subsequent Echoes…I’m super-excited!

Those prints are awesome! You are one of the few creators who make special prints for specific shows and I think that’s great. It helps me decide which shows I’ll go to when I know that I can get something really special and unique from one of my favorite creators.

Also, ordering from the store is always a good idea, since most smart shop owners will order more than one copy if someone asks for it specifically. At least my guys do.
